When I first saw Tony’s photo, I was obviously attracted to her. There was only one problem however. We both lived in different countries. I still thought, at the most, we would only be friends, but I took a shot. Not only was she one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen, but after reading her profile, I knew that she really had a heart for the Lord, which was the most important thing.

I sent my first message to her on early July 2009. We eventually went from ChristianMingle emails, to instant messaging, to phone calls and then finally to Skype. We met each other in person for the first time in late October of 2009. I’ll never forget how excited I was driving home from work that day! I was possibly going to meet my soul mate, live and in living color. I remember when I saw her for the first time sitting on a couch. I immediately thought how much more beautiful she was in person than on the webcam. I was in awe of her. Tony was very shy at first, but after talking for 10 to15 minutes we felt like we had known each other for years!

The next couple of years brought about lots of traveling for both of us. My first trip to Mexico was in February of 2010. It was during this trip that I gave my testimony at her church’s youth group service. I spoke while Tony translated it into Spanish. I thought the experience was incredible! It was at this point that we had really fallen in love. We both knew in our hearts at that time that our search had finally ended.

We were engaged on September 18, 2011. I popped the question over dinner, at an outdoor cafe, perched on the side of a mountain, overlooking a beautiful valley with a golf course and beautiful homes in Fountain Hills, Arizona. Of course she was surprised and of course she said yes! She cried, and I did the same.

We had our wedding ceremony on September 11, 2012. It took place up in the mountains of Mexico City. It was beautiful, like something out of a movie or story book. We were surrounded with incredibly tall, monster trees rising up into the misty air, with the surreal 18th century monastery looming in the background. The “official” marriage ceremony, where we actually signed the documents, was on the beach, in Cancun, Mexico. We always joke with each other that we’ve been married twice!

I have no doubt whatsoever that the Lord has had His hand over this situation the entire time. The Lord knew hundreds and thousands of years before we were both born that we would someday wed.

Thank You God! And thank you ChristianMingle!
