When I signed up for ChristianMingle at the end of January 2012, I had no idea that I would meet the man God had chosen for me to marry. I was becoming frustrated with the dating scene and wanted to meet a man who wanted to grow together in a Christian relationship. Kyle’s profile caught my eye right away. I noticed that we had many things in common including hobbies, athletics, and a determined, focused attitude regarding life goals. The communication proceeded naturally and after emailing and talking on the phone with one another for a week, Kyle asked to meet me on February 11, 2012. With just over 100 miles between our towns, we both knew dating would not necessarily be easy, but we were both readily willing to make things work as best as possible. Many dates took place in the city of Rockford, IL, which is halfway between our homes. The connection between us was instantly felt by both of us and there was truly no other explanation for it other than God had planned for us to meet on ChristianMingle at the time in our lives when we were both looking and ready for a spouse.

Kyle’s sense of humor and his ability to make me smile at any time was evident to our families and friends. It was not long before we started talking about our life goals and marriage. Our communication was always sincere and we immediately knew that we could trust one another. We both wanted to get married within the next year and so we started to look at rings for one another. Despite our discussions about marriage, I was nonetheless shocked when Kyle got down on one knee in a beautiful canyon at Starved Rock during a weekend excursion on June 9, 2012. The words happiness, joy, and excitement do not even begin to describe the emotions I felt as we began to plan our fall wedding. I simply did not feel deserving of the blessings God had placed in my life. We set our wedding date for October 19, 2012, anticipating the magnificent colors of fall for our wedding picture backdrop. It was a wonderful day, and we were blessed to have family and friends from all over the country there with us to celebrate God’s blessings in our lives together. We were able to experience the breathtaking natural wonders of Hawaii during our honeymoon and afterwards, I was also blessed with a wonderful new job as I transitioned to life in a more rural town.

It is amazing how God has worked in our lives and brought us together at the time He deemed we were ready for one another. Every day we are reminded of the abundant blessings in our lives and the joy we have with one another. We are thankful for the ChristianMingle website and the role it played in God’s plans for our lives.
