I am very thankful for the ChristianMingle organization that God has used to help me find a Godly Christian mate at 71-years-old after the loss of my husband 2 years ago. I didn’t want to just remove my profile without letting you know how much I appreciate your organization.

I began to receive matches within 15 minutes of signing on and Royal was the second one to contact me (months later I found a note under my computer that I had written saying, “he’s Pentecostal and he looks good too”). Being just before Christmas, we e-mailed a few times before he asked if we could meet.

On Wednesday, December 29, 2010 we met at a restaurant in Lansing, MI. We talked for 2 hours before ever ordering dinner and 2 more hours after dinner. Royal was so up front about everything in that first meeting and I really liked that. It made me feel very relaxed and comfortable with him. He even asked me at our first date if things worked out with us, would I be willing to leave my home 108 miles away and move to Hillsdale. I told him I would have to think about that. Again, I liked that he was up front and honest.

I left that first meeting feeling that there was a connection between us and after 4 hours neither one of us really wanted to leave. Royal was leaving for Pennsylvania January 1st for 2 weeks.

We e-mailed while he was gone and for a week after he got back before we met again at the same restaurant. This time we were there for 4 1/2 hours. We seemed to never run out of things to talk about. We made plans to meet again on Sunday, February 13th to attend River Dance in Grand Rapids. Even though we were caring more for each other with every meeting, we both continued communicating with other matches by e-mail until March 1 and then stopped all contact with other matches. By April 8th we decided to get married and Royal said he was taking me to Israel (some place I have always wanted to go) for a wedding present. That blew me away! We have set our wedding date for August 20, 2011 and leave for Israel on September 19th. As for when we fell in love, that grew each time we met.

I am so thankful for ChristianMingle because you helped me find a mate who is so compatible with me in every area, especially spiritually. Our churches are very much alike.

By the way, in answer to Royal’s question on that first date, I told him by our 3rd date that if I loved someone enough to marry him I would be willing to leave my home. We will be living in Hillsdale, MI after August 20.
