How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
Our stories are very similar. We had both been through some not-so-great past relationships and were close to giving up on ever finding that special someone. It was a few weeks after Thanksgiving of 2015 that I had decided to try out ChristianMingle again after four years of off-and-on attempts. I signed up for the one-month subscription, not expecting much to come of it. Josh had never used a dating website before, but decided to give it a shot and was nearing the end of his six-month subscription.

I was starting to become discouraged and was almost ready to get rid of my profile when I received an e-mail. Josh sent me one of those cute e-cards on ChristianMingle with a quote that read, “Your profile gave me a smile, so I thought I’d send you one in return.” I was used to not hearing back from guys after the first e-mail and resolved to sending nothing more than a simple “Thank you!” in return and just leave it at that.

To my surprise, the next day I received an e-mail from Josh and from there, we hit it off. For the first few days, we sent e-mails back and forth via ChristianMingle, but Josh’s subscription was running out and he asked me for my phone number so that we could continue to communicate though text message, and our first phone call was on New Year’s Eve. I was having so much fun getting to know him that I didn’t want to stop, and I let him know how I felt. He agreed and after a week or so of texting, he asked me out to dinner. We continued getting to know one another, and have been inseparable ever since.

On our second date, he took me out to the coast where we wandered around the cute little shops for an hour or so and then on the drive down highway 101, he asked me to be his girlfriend! We have now been together officially for eight amazing months (engaged for four).

I can honestly say that God blessed us both the day he brought us together. I have never met a man more God-honoring and hardworking than Joshua. Every day has me falling in love with him more and more.  God knew exactly what we both needed and I can’t wait for the day I get to call myself Mrs. Axmaker. The wedding day is set for September 24th, 2016.

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
Although my love for Josh was realized in a collaboration of many moments. The moment I first fell in love would have to be at our first date.

For our first date, Josh and I met up at a Mongolian style restaurant. Once we were seated and the food eventually arrived, Josh asked me if it would be okay that he prayed for the meal before we started eating. I told him I was more than okay with that. I was pretty skeptical at first because no man had ever asked me that before, but God comforted me and assured me that his heart was in the right place. I was humbled and admired his faith. It was at that moment that I knew I was falling in love with this amazing man.

What advice would you give other ChristianMingle members?
Keep your eyes on the lord and don’t ever give up! If it is his will for you, then he will bring that special someone in to your life, and most likely when you least expect it. But they will be exactly who God designed for you!
