Kimberly & I “met” on ChristianMingle in February of 2012.  I was most attracted to the photos of Kimberly serving in Africa from the previous summer, because I was also planning to go to Africa for missions trip. I soon found out that Kimberly was planning a second trip to Africa, and shared my interest in motorcycles!  I was excited to share with her that on one of my past missons trip to Liberia, I delivered to shoes to remote villages via motorcycles!

Soon after connecting on ChristianMingle, we moved from chatting online, to speaking on the phone, to planning our first date.  In April, we met face-to-face in a quaint little coffee shop.  We instantly connected and our coffee turned into dinner at a neighboring restaurant!

We continued to date once or twice a week as we lived about an hour apart. We found that texting, e-mails, and phone calls were helpful as we continued to strengthen our connection and fall in love.  We began talking about marriage late in 2012, but we wanted to take things slow and continue to date for at least a year while we did pre-marital counseling.

I surprised Kimmy with an official engagement for her birthday on March 27th. I proposed at the coffee shop where we had our first date!  I had worked it out ahead of time with the coffee shop owner, and had a dozen red roses sitting on the table where we sat on our first date.  We married at the home of Kimberly’s grandparents, which is on Buckeye Lake (OH) on June 1, 2013!  It was a beautiful day!

ChristianMingle was successful for us because it provided a way for us to meet.  We were both praying for God’s direction regarding marriage.  We were both active in ministry, and felt complete with our relationship with the Lord. However, we both desired a partner to share life, ministry and love!  We lived about an hour apart, and we might have met as some of our ministry activities intersected, but ultimately ChristianMingle provided an excellent way for us to put feet to our prayers to find the match that God had planned for us!
