Daniel’s Story: Needless to say I never thought I would meet the one Father God intended me to be with from the moment I was created, let alone on a dating website.
September 2014 came along and out of the blue, I get a notification on my phone that I have a message from ChristianMingle. I checked my phone and saw that it was from Janelle. I remember smiling instantly and smiled even more when I read her message. It said, “I saw your message but wasn’t really sure if I wanted to join.” I quickly replied and said, “Well it looks like you joined. Hi I’m Daniel.”
From that day in September (I wish I could remember the exact date), we have talked every single day. I still can’t get enough of her. She makes me smile every time I see her or think of her. I guess you can say I am walking around every day with a smile on my face.
October 10th was our first date. We saw a movie and spent a great evening together. From that day on we have spent almost every weekend together.
On January 10, 2015 I asked her to be my wife on the 9th hole of a mini golf course in Madison, WI while my two dear friends watched and were part of the whole thing. We moved in together in June 2015 and were married October 24, 2015 – 54 weeks after our first date.
To say a year blew by is an understatement. It was a complete magical ride where I was reunited with the other half of my soul. I have grown deeper into my faith and realize that God is watching over us and does answer prayers. I can’t imagine not seeing her every day; I can’t imagine not seeing her smile or hearing her laugh. I can say with all honesty that for the first time in my life, I am complete. Through everything we deal with on a daily basis – the good and the bad, the happy and the sad – I wouldn’t want anyone other than Janelle to go through life with.
Janelle’s Story: After looking into Christian Mingle for probably about a year, I finally decided it couldn’t hurt just to create my profile. However, after creating my profile I couldn’t quite convince myself to pay the money to join. I mean, come on, can this really work?! Not to mention my mother shaking her head and praying when I told her I joined. Needless to say, I wasn’t exactly quick on jumping on this bandwagon. I received a “smile” from Daniel on May 17th (my birthday, unbeknownst to him) asking for more info. When I did finally join in September, I responded to him apologizing for the delay (only four months). For whatever reason, he was the only one I responded to (someone above had a hand in that, I think). From that day, we’ve spoken every day since. Would I call it a fairy tale? No – it’s better. It’s real, honest, loving, funny, happy, sad and hard, etc. It’s real life with all the joys and hardships, laughter and tears, love and sadness. It’s wonderful and more than I could have ever hoped for. God is definitely playing a hand in bringing two lives together through ChristianMingle and I can’t thank you enough for being there to allow him to do so. I will be eternally grateful.
