How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
In May 2015, I created a ChristianMingle account, and in a matter of days received a wink from the most stunning woman I’ve ever laid eyes on. In an instinctual motion, I pulled out my credit card, and the journey began.

Once I had the opportunity to speak with Claribel, the distance simply would not stop two hearts trusting God. I work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and in 2015 I was working in Washington, D.C. Claribel is from a small town in the panhandle of Texas. My professional life was incredibly fulfilling, but after a month of talking with Claribel, my flight was booked to meet her and her family in Texas.

Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
The moment I saw her standing on the porch as I pulled up to her mother’s house, I knew. As our relationship developed after several months and flights, it became clear we needed to be closer to honor this divine courtship. I prayed every day about what to do, and how to obediently move forward. At first blush, it seemed impossible. We could never afford two properties in the highly expensive Washington, D.C. area. But we simply would not be content to live together prior to marriage. With my entire men’s fellowship praying, an unexpected opportunity opened in geographically the closest office to Claribel’s small town in Texas. I competed for the position, and received the incredible news that I had a position in our office in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a four-hour drive from Claribel.

Claribel and I continued to deepen our love and faith with adventures and introductions to other important figures in our life, including spending Christmas 2016 together with my family in Florida. After receiving the blessings I needed to hear, I proposed to Claribel in the first minute of 2017 … and she said “YES”! After attending Family Life’s “Weekend to Remember,” we decided on a wedding date and are now humbly planning a ceremony and reception in Amarillo, Texas. Due to the limited resources of each of our families, we are working through the process of planning our wonderful day, set for August 5, 2017. On that day, the north and south will unite. Along with our family in the U.S., I will have family coming from Canada and Claribel will anxiously welcome her family from Mexico. Once again, we are trusting in God to guide us in wisdom and truth.

I would like to express my gratitude to ChristianMingle for the opportunity to meet la mujer de mis suenos (the woman of my dreams). Given each of our circumstances and location, there is simply no other way I would have crossed paths with this most beautiful, humble daughter of God. We simply know that in His providence, Christian Mingle was the unlikely catalyst to this divine romance leading to marriage.

What advice would you give other ChristianMingle members?
Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and trust in Him with every step. Live every day to His glory. Remember who you are in Christ Jesus.
