I had tried ChristianMingle on and off for several years before meeting my true love. I reactivated my account in June of 2013, just two days before my wife-to-be found me. On June 6, 2013, Chrissy messaged me on ChristianMingle. I was living in Michigan and she lived in Florida. At first I thought Chrissy was a “catfish” (like the ones from the TV show) because I thought she was too pretty to be real. I wasn’t looking for a long distance relationship, but within hours of talking to Chrissy, I found out she was a very real Christian woman and we had so much in common. In fact, we even had mutual friends in Florida! Our interest in each other grew almost immediately, and Chrissy flew up to Michigan to meet me the following week. I realized Chrissy was different from other women I had met in the past. She was very caring and respectful, and she knew what she wanted in life. When we met, it was strong interest at first sight; love came not much later. We started dating and continued to date long distance for the next three months. We flew to meet each other every weekend, or every other week. The long distance was hard, but definitely worth it. We prayed that somehow God would bring us together to the same city, and sure enough He answered. In late September, I was offered a position with my job in Florida, not far from where Chrissy lived. During the last weekend of October, I moved to Florida and lived only an hour from Chrissy. On November 3rd, I proposed! Our engagement wasn’t very long as we were just too excited to wait. As the old saying goes, “When you know, you know.” We got married on March 8, 2014.
Our story is a huge success that we give God the glory for. We wouldn’t have met if He wasn’t behind orchestrating it all together and He used an unlikely place like ChristianMingle to do it. We are happily married and our marriage would not be possible if our first love was not set on Jesus Christ.
