Caleb first sent me a message through ChristianMingle on December 1, 2011. I thought it sounded like we had a lot in common and he seemed like a great guy but there was a catch. He lived in Nebraska and I lived in Vancouver, Canada. I didn’t really see how much could come out of it due to the distance, but we decided to keep messaging each other anyway. We immediately hit it off, and our relationship grew into an online friendship and then we began to text message one another. We were in contact every single day and we both knew something special was growing. Eventually, we started having daily video chats that lasted for hours on end.
After about 2 months of talking, we decided we had to meet face to face. So, Caleb flew out to Vancouver for 10 days, which were some of the most amazing 10 days of our lives! It was like we had known each other forever and we felt like best friends already. We could not believe just how “right” everything felt! After Caleb left, we continued our relationship long distance until April. During Easter 2012, I flew out to Nebraska to meet his family. At the end of the trip, we made a big decision to pack up Caleb’s life and move him to Washington so that we could be closer to one another. He didn’t have a job or a place to live lined up, but we figured if it was meant to be, God would make everything fall into place.
And He did! Caleb stayed with my family for just 2 weeks before being blessed with a job that was perfect for him! And, it was only 45 minutes away from where I lived! Right after he got the perfect job, he also landed a gorgeous condominium with strong Christian landlords. We knew this was where God wanted us to be, and that He wanted us to be together. We continued dating like a regular couple, getting to see each other throughout the week, for about 5 more months.
On August 24, 2012, everything became more official when Caleb proposed! I, of course, said yes and became the happiest girl alive! Caleb even got every romantic minute of the whole proposal captured in a surprise video!
Our wedding date is now set for February 2, 2013. I will then change my citizenship and move to the US to be with the man of my dreams! We would have never found each other without ChristianMingle and we both feel so blessed and thankful to ChristianMingle that it was able to provide an opportunity for us to meet!
