We both had previous marriages that left us wounded.  I went on ChristianMingle after my children dared me to join as I was a bit unsure of where to start in the dating world again.  I am an active duty Chaplain in the Navy, have my own church service, and was really not in a position to meet anyone at work.  I had assumed that I was destined to simply take care of my children and stay single.  ChristianMingle not only introduced me to Staci, but I found friends through the site as well.  I was able to speak to other divorcées who had gone through similar experiences and pains.  We shared stories of how God was still working in our lives, as well as our dreams of future love.  It was not only a dating site, but a place of healing.

Within a few months I met Staci, and we started chatting.  Two months later, we met for the first time at Starbucks. A year later, I asked her to marry me at that same location with members from the Coast Guard Boot Camp in attendance from where I work.  My three children and Staci’s child were in attendance as well. Staci and I were married on June 7, 2013!
