I had bad experiences with online dating, which usually involved outdated pictures and women misrepresenting themselves. Sometime around November or December, I began receiving e-mails from ChristianMingle once every other week or so and because of my past experience, I would promptly delete them.

On Saturday, January 5th, I came home from a special service at my church and checked my e-mail. I found another e-mail from ChristianMingle and clicked the delete button but paused first. It was then that I created a new account. On January 9th, I sent an e-mail to Rosemarie and she responded with her phone number. That first phone call did it for me! We prayed together for two and a half hours. When I hung up the phone, I prayed and said, “God, as far as I’m concerned, I don’t need to look any further. I don’t care if she doesn’t look like her photos.”

I picked her up on the 12th and she took my breath away when she came to the door. Later that night, we went to the beach and I could tell I was going to fall for her rapidly. I told her about my background including things about myself that I don’t usually share. To my surprise, she accepted me just as I am. Then, as we were sitting on the beach, she said, “I am not your date.”

I asked, “So what, are we going to be just friends?”

Her answer was, “A date has an end.”

I knew at that moment we were going to be married. As soon as I got home, I deactivated my account. Since that day, I stopped getting e-mails. I believe my meeting with Rosemary was ordained by God. He has shown us many signs that we are to be together, including providing a home for us. We lived 50 miles apart and I drove the distance almost daily, just to spend time with her. I proposed to her on February 14th in front of about 250 people. We were privately married on April 1, 2013, at the Courthouse by a justice of the peace. We are to have a formal wedding on October 26, 2013.
