Pair your New Year’s resolutions with Bible verses to start the New Year off right. Remind yourself that God is good – all the time.

Remembering that God is always with us and that His love for us is without end, can provide us with the strength we need to follow through on our resolutions, commitments and promises to ourselves.

Here is a sampling of inspirational verses that may help as you strive to start the New Year off right:

2. That you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man, that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit; and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth. Ephesians 4:22-24

Learn From Your Past Mistakes …

Forgive – and Even Forget – the Past to Move Forward in Love, Compassion and Thanks …

1. Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance, bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Colossians 3:12-15

2. Brothers, I don’t regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and stretching forward to the things which are before, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philipians 3:13-14

You might have a lot of other principles to apply or goals to achieve in 2014, but if you don’t ground them in the solid teachings of Scripture at your daily disposal, they’ll be rooted in sand instead of the solid Rock, which is Christ.
