Paul Baloche artistically sets the mood for the holidays with the release of his new CD, Paul Baloche – Christmas Worship Live. Christian music fans are in for a big treat with these holiday tunes that combine traditional songs and hymns with modern influences.

Although this musician has done several projects, Christmas Worship Live is his first ever holiday compilation. It has a total of 12 tracks that are sure to please music lovers of all ages. Some of the classic Christmas songs include “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” and “Joy to the World.”

This project was a collaboration of various singers and songwriters. His wife Rita, who is also a Christian songwriter, wrote two of the tracks on this album. Some of the others writers that contributed to this fantastic CD include Glenn Packiam, Graham Kendrick, Jason Ingram, Kathryn Scott and Lincoln Brewster.

In addition to Paul, the beautiful vocals heard throughout the CD are a team effort from Aaron Shust on “Follow That Star,” All Sons & Daughters on “King of Heaven,” Jennifer Holm on “Prepare Him Room,” Kathryn Scott on “This Is Love” and Onsje Jefferson on “Offering,” as well as his wife Rita.

When Baloche was asked what inspired him to do this project, he replied, “We all love the content of Christmas carols, but often they don’t facilitate a vertical expression of worship towards the Lord. So the idea of this album was to take classic Christmas carols that we all enjoy singing and combine them with modern worship choruses to encourage worship all throughout the Christmas season.”

You will have joy and gladness; and many will rejoice at his birth. —Luke 1:14

Paul was born on June 4, 1962 and is originally from New Jersey. During his lifetime, he has become an accomplished songwriter, singer and worship leader. He and his talented wife, Rita, have been married for over 25 years and have three children.

All of Baloche’s music has been released under the Integrity Music label. He has been nominated multiple times at the Dove Awards for both Song of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. He was presented with a Dove Award in 2009 under the category of Inspiration Recorded Song of the Year for co-authoring “A New Hallelujah” with Michael Smith and Debbie Smith.

For over 20 years, Baloche has been a worship leader at the Community Christian Fellowship in Lindale, Texas. During these years, he’s also released a set of videos titled The Worship Guitar Series, instructional DVD’s titled The Modern Worship Series, and a book titled God Songs.

In addition to his full calendar, he also travels around the world doing Leadership Workshops. These events go from Friday through Saturday, and are aimed at strengthening worship groups to become more effective leaders in their churches.

What quality in a person do you think motivates Baloche the most? He states, “When I meet people who are full of the Spirit — despite their present circumstances, beyond their temperament or attitude — I’m inspired. I want to be that kind of person, to be in His presence, to read and digest His Word, to make it part of my DNA, to walk it out — to live it out. In the end, I want my life, my music to facilitate a conversation about God and who He is.”
