I was matched with my fiancée on June 29, 2013. We lived about 45 miles from each other. After exchanging “smiles” and a couple of messages, we found out that we had grown up just 10 miles away from each other. Our high school sports teams were rivals and I had actually run against her brother in high school track meets. After a couple messages back and forth, I called her, and two days later we had our first date. We had both never felt more comfortable around someone than we did that day. Things just clicked. On our third date, we kissed for the first time. On our fourth date, we found out that our kiss was a first for both of us. It was very special to know that, as we were both 30+ years old, and neither one of us had shared a kiss with anyone else. Our fifth date was an impromptu date. I was coming back from a business trip and going through the town she lived in. It was on this date that I told her I loved her. After several dates and meeting each other’s’ families, I asked her to marry me on October 5, 2013. She said, “Yes!” and we are getting married on October 4, 2014. She was definitely worth the wait, and I cannot wait to share many more “firsts” with her.
