It all started with Oreos.  With urging from a friend, Megan created an online dating profile through ChristianMingle.  The first line in her introduction was, “Hi, I like to call myself an inside-out Oreo.”  It was a running joke among her friends.  Although, she is white on the outside she feels like she has some black soul on the inside.

Ben, being an Oreo cookie lover himself, found this amusing and simply asked her over online messaging, “Do you like Oreos?”  And that’s how it started in March 2013.  Soon messaging became texting, then texting became skyping, and one day Ben asked, “When can I meet you?”

Only about a month later, Megan was flying out from California to North Dakota to meet this Oreo lover.  Ben picked her up from the airport in his Air Force attire.  All it took was one handsome man in uniform, a loving hug, and the first words out of his mouth, “Megan, you’re beautiful,” for her to know that this was it.

On November 21st, 2013 Ben proposed to Megan through a romantic treasure hunt, and on May 31st, 2014 they got married!

The Lord has proved so faithful in bringing Ben and Megan together.  While pursuing God’s heart, first and foremost, they were able to find each other.  In their marriage they continue striving to live a life worthy to His calling. Together, they live by Psalm 63:3 “Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.”
