We met on ChristianMingle in late May of 2011. Both of us had decided to try a one month “trial subscription” to ChristianMingle at approximately the same time. Both of our profiles were virtually brand new when we saw one another, and to this day, we can’t really remember who sent the first “smile” to whom, but we are absolutely thrilled that it happened! After many messages, some lengthy phone calls, and numerous “visits” to each other’s profile, we met for lunch at Ruby Tuesday’s Restaurant in Smithfield, North Carolina. We actually lived about 60 miles apart; however, we split the difference and met at a middle point geographically. We were both in our mid-50’s, from very different cultural backgrounds, but we had very similar life stories. We knew immediately that there was much more to this new relationship than simply a new pen pal! It took approximately one month before we both had concluded that we had found “THE ONE!” We fit each other’s wish list of characteristics in an ideal mate. Linda told me that my character fit attributes of a list that she had been given by God, a year earlier in her prayer time, of “The One” that He was bringing into her life. I was able to see all the attributes I sought in a mate, and so much more, in Linda.

We got engaged in spring of 2012 and were married in a small, intimate ceremony on May 19, 2012, surrounded by our families and closest friends. As we approach our second wedding anniversary, we can say without hesitation that we are married to God’s match for us. We are truly happy beyond words and we are eternally grateful to ChristianMingle for delivering on “God’s promise!” Thank you, ChristianMingle!
