Giving single teens and young adults hope and advice for future relationships, the book’s main idea is to give yourself up to God and trust that He will have a plan for you.

Originally written in 2006 with the subtitle “The Ultimate Guide to Guy/Girl Relationships,” the expanded version was published three years later. This is the couple’s best-selling book. When God Writes Your Love Story is written like an advice book from the perspective of both authors. The best way to find true love, write the authors, is to give yourself up completely to God. Not just by praying to Him that He blesses you with a significant other, but by allowing Him into all aspects of your life. It is only when you lead a Christ-centered life that everything else will fall into place. You’ll be a happier person all-around, argue the Ludys, when you put your trust in something – and someone – higher than yourself.

The authors’ personal love story – how they met one another and found true love – culminates in the extended version’s final chapters and epilogue. Leslie writes about life after “I Do.”
