In the summer of 2011, I was set up by a friend on ChristianMingle. I had thought I probably wouldn’t find anyone, but then I found Nathan! From his profile, I thought that we might be a good match. On October 3, 2011, I sent him a smile and he returned it. From that point on, we began to chat. I felt that he was such a genuine man. Not only was he honest and caring, he had a sincere love for the Lord, which was the most important thing to me. After chatting for only a short time, we decided that we wanted to meet up. On October 14, 2011, we went on our first date. I knew after that date that this was the man who I wanted to marry. I realized this because the day after our first date, he had the courage to come over and go to church with me, which meant that he would meet my entire family. I knew that if he could do that, he would be a family-oriented and godly man. From that point on, Nathan and I continued to date one another, travelling back and forth from our respective states as Nathan lived in Indiana and I lived in Illinois.

On November 23, 2012 at a Thanksgiving meal with Nathan’s family, he surprised me and got down on one knee asked me to be his wife! Of course I said yes! I knew that he was such a great man and truly my best friend. Nathan helped me through the passing of my mother and I know I couldn’t have done it without him. On June 22, 2013 before our families, friends and God, we were married. The photographer for our wedding just happened to be the same friend that told me to join ChristianMingle! I am so thankful that Nathan and I were able to meet each other this way and we truly believe that God had a helping hand in bringing us together.
