Mike and I “met” on ChristianMingle on February 15, 2009. I didn’t really want a relationship; I just wanted to meet Christians in the area where I had newly moved to, with hopes of finding a new church. I “Smiled” at him because he had looked at my profile and from there we talked for about a month before I actually met him. He suggested going to a church other than his own, which was closer to me. It wasn’t quite what I was looking for so he suggested making a little bit longer of a drive to try his church, so I did. This was the first time I actually met him face-to-face, so I had no idea what to expect. We had lunch after church and the conversation just kept on flowing. I tried telling God that I didn’t want a relationship and that I wasn’t ready, but apparently he knew different because about 3 months later after having Mike pursue me, I finally gave in, and we decided to make our relationship official.

Mike proposed to me July 25, 2010 in the Catskill Mountains overlooking the Hudson River Valley.

The poem that he wrote to propose to me said this:
“You smiled at me on February 15, 2009
then we talked for weeks online.

We soon had calls that lasted for hours,
and now I love sending you long flowers.

We may have met on ChristianMingle,
but only true love makes me tingle.

We have done so many things from gazing at the stars,
to suiting up and driving race cars.

When I travel, you are the one I miss,
when I get home, you are the one I kiss.

I love your smile and your eyes,
and I will never tell you lies.

I will love you ’til I die,
and always comfort you when you cry.

I will stay with you in sickness and in health,
richer or poorer, being with you is my wealth.

I will honor you all of my life,
will you marry me and be my wife?”

His proposal to me is the most romantic proposal any girl could ever ask for. We are now 24 days away from our wedding and so happily in love and happy to have finally found our needle in a hay stack.
