Katelyn’s Story
My name is Katelyn, and I am so proud and happy to say I met the love of my life and the man of my dreams the day I sent a ‘Smile’ to, who at the time, was just a super handsome guy. I was a little skeptical of online dating versus meeting someone in town, but we were able to build one of the most unique and amazing friendships a person could ever have. I will never forget the day we met because it was such a huge stepping stone in our journey of dating. I can honestly say we had a perfect chemistry and that was very exciting to me. We have only grown stronger every day, and I am so thankful I met the most amazing, kind-hearted, hard-working man who loves the Lord.
Jared’s Story
Our lucky story started with one of the best smiles I have ever seen! My name is Jared and about two months before Katelyn found me on ChristianMingle I was very hesitant to sign up with an online dating site. I was still in a lot of emotional pain from a broken marriage not even a year before that time, but I was trying to abandon my previous life and hoping to start over with a new Christian friend. I had just about given up when I received a “Smile” in my message box — that I still to this day thank my wife for sending. Not long after that message I also received a beautiful picture of her real smile that changed my life from that moment on.
After meeting on ChristianMingle, Katelyn and I talked for four months by phone and letters about every subject known to man before I was able to fly from Washington to Florida to visit my best friend for the first time. We were both already so close emotionally, and from a distance had already connected in a way that we both knew was destined to be eternal. So the day came when we finally were able to meet in Tampa, FL. I met her family and we went to the beach to enjoy the first of many sunsets together.
After that amazing weekend, we were only able to meet once more before I left for bootcamp and training but we couldn’t be kept apart anymore, so she moved near me and followed me wherever training took us. We got engaged on Christmas morning, December 2013, in my family’s living room. Then, after more training, we got married in Colorado Springs on April 12, 2014. We have been married nearly a year and a half and we both feel so blessed by God to have met each other. He truly does bring the right person into your life at the right time.
