Julie first smiled at me, and for the first time since joining ChristianMingle, I responded back. I really didn’t know what to say but after a few messages, it just felt like I knew I wanted to continue to see where this was going. She must have been thinking the same thing because that same day without asking, she gave me her phone number. We spent the next couple of days texting until we moved on to our first phone call. Without even knowing where time had gone, we talked for 9 hours! The days continued to go on like this with a minimum of 7 to 8 hours a night on the phone while texting all day. The time came and we decided to meet.

Because I was going to be in her area for a banquet, we decided to use that opportunity to get together. When I got off the train and first saw her, I knew that she was the one God had created just for me. We went to a pottery place that day on our date and spoke like we had known each other forever. As the next couple months continued, we would take turns traveling back and forth. After 8 months dating, I knew it was time to propose. I had already been saving but was finally able to get her ring. I asked her family’s permission and decided I would ask her to be my wife on Christmas Eve morning. That day, I made breakfast for her and placed the ring on the plate in a small box so that she had no clue what it was. When she opened it up, I got on my knee and asked her to be mine. We now have a date and place set! We will be getting married on 11/1/13 and not a day goes by that we don’t thank God for bringing us together!
