Don and I had our first telephone conversation on September 16, 2011.  He lived two hours away from me, nearby my parent’s house.  I was attracted to Don because of his picture and what he said about Jesus.  I came across his profile soon after he joined the site. 

He had to pay for a subscription to email me, and boy was it worth it.  He loved it when I said that “the Jesus in him was such an attraction to me.” 

We met in person two weeks later when I visited my parents.  We met at a park by a butterfly house.  When I saw Don for the first time I was speechless.  We hugged each other.  I looked up into his blue eyes and he asked, “Can I pray with you before our date gets started?”  I could not say a word.  I was totally in shock.  I had never had a man ask me that before a date.  I really feel like it was love at first sight because our hearts were connected right after we met on ChristianMingle.  We were meant for each other. 

Don had been married for 25 years and I was married for 20 years before we both divorced.  We feel like we were meant for each other.  We are working together in our church helping divorced singles.  We are giving them hope that God is not done with them, and that they have a purpose in life. 

He proposed to me at the same spot we met. We married in three months after we met.  Our second wedding anniversary was on December 17, 2013.   Don moved to Alabama to be with me.  We drive to get his children every other weekend to spend time with them.
