I’m Michelle Wulfestieg, and I’m so excited to be part of the I’m A Believer campaign. This is my story.

At the age of 11, I had a stroke due to a vascular lesion in my brain. The diagnosis was an inoperable Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM), and treatment included powerful radiation that resulted in permanent paralysis of the right side of my body.

Countless times, I cried out to God, “Why me? Why would you do this to me? Please heal me!”

No response. Nothing.

I felt abandoned. Forgotten. Utterly lost and completely alone.

So I gave up on God. After all, he had given up on me.

Then, at the age of 14 the doctors said that there was nothing more they could do. I wasn’t expected to live past the age of 30.

Yet instead of becoming angry, I chose to accomplish all of my goals, and serve others through hospice care.

However, in 2008, at the age of 25, I experienced my second stroke. I was in a coma for eight days, surrounded by God’s healing light, where I experienced a miraculous healing.

My prayer was answered… In his time.

I am so excited to be a part of the Believe.com community and connecting with you through my monthly articles.

I am Michelle Wulfestieg. I am a Christian. And I’m a Believer.
