It is very difficult to comprehend the power of the Word of God. We read in 1 Peter 1:23: “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God.” None of us are born again in our own strength. It is impossible. God’s Word spoke to our spirits and brought us from death to life.
We must live every day in that same power. Unfortunately, many Christians acknowledge the fact that they are supernaturally born again of the Spirit of God, but then live the rest of their lives in the natural, focusing on what is possible, not what is impossible! We are born again through the living, enduring Word of God and we should continue that way.
When you truly understand the power of the Word of God, you will devour it every day!
Are you growing in the Word of God every day? Do you allow it to penetrate your heart and your life? Do you allow it to rebuke and encourage you—maturing you in Christ? Do you feed upon it? Do you meditate upon it? Do you exercise the power therein?
Prayer: Father, thank You for the reminder today of the power of Your Word. Help me to spend more time feeding and meditating on Your Word and exercising the power of it. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path” (Psalm 119:105).
