If you are searching for inspiration, then you’ll want to pick up a copy of God’s Favor – Breath of Heaven, by Michele Woolley. This book is intended for anyone looking to make solid changes in his life and deepen his relationship with God. Since its release in December 2011, this book has received numerous positive reviews. From the very first chapter, it’s easy to see why this author is receiving such high praise.

The book itself would be considered shorter in nature, with only 102 pages. However, each chapter successfully makes an impact on the reader. If you are just beginning to build your relationship with God, this is a fantastic read. Or, if you are feeling lost and possibly struggling with feelings of hopelessness, then you’ll embrace this book. It’s something that can be read rather quickly, but the messages received on each page can be revisited whenever you are looking to be inspired.

The storyline depicts the struggles that Woolley has faced throughout her lifetime. Her writing style is both open and honest, and it is these traits that quickly bond the reader to this Christian author. As she shares her stories, along with others she has counseled, we identify similarities between them and the challenges we have faced, or are facing, in our lives.

From the very first sentence of this book, you begin to ponder the daily choices you make in your life. Woolley’s first chapter opens with “You cannot have the peace or favor of God without the presence of God in your life”. This statement is very accurate and one that we should remind ourselves of on a daily basis.

As you continue to read, you may ask yourself the following question: “Am I fully present and committed to building and strengthening my relationship with Him?” In simplistic terms, it all goes back to the old phrase, “If you’re going to talk the talk, then walk the walk.” It’s not enough to just say you live a Christian lifestyle. Instead you actually have to commit and follow God’s Word every day.

One of the most inspiring statements in this book can be found on page 17. “Dare to dream the impossible. Look beyond what you see in your life and respond to obstacles with a declaration of faith.” So many times we are our own worst enemies. We set ourselves up for failure before even making an attempt to succeed. God has a plan for all of us and only He knows how our life will unfold. As a human being, we tend to always want to be in control of a situation. If we can control what’s coming, then we know how to react to it. However, we must let go of the control and turn the steering wheel over to God. When we truly place all of our faith in him, it is only then that we are living with our eyes wide open and ready to receive our life’s purpose.

Throughout the book, Woolley includes several Bible verses that offer strong reminders of how we should be living our daily lives. She included the following verse that teaches us to live unselfishly and with an open heart.

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil. —Luke 6:35 KJV
