In September 2012, Luis and I began looking at each other’s profiles on ChristianMingle. I initiated the conversation more than once by sending him smiles. He finally responded with an email and I later found out that he was a free member and paid just to talk to me! Our real communication began on October 15, 2012 when we sent several emails back and forth during that week. Over IM, we chatted for over an hour and then exchanged phone numbers. We talked every day since, and our phone conversations usually lasted at least an hour and a half!

Our first date was on the weekend of November 3 and we had such a connection! After dinner, we took a nice walk together at the pier and then he stayed in town at a local hotel. The next morning, he picked me up and we went to my church together before he had to go back to his home, a two hour drive from mine. We had so much in common but the main thing was a great love for the Lord. Keeping Christ first is so important in any relationship and we found that doing things His way led to many blessings!

Over Thanksgiving, I drove to Luis’s town and spent the holiday with his family. What a blessed time! I knew after that experience that he was the one for me! A week later, Luis drove to see me and we talked about setting a date for marriage and the following week, we drove to Miami to see his mom. We made our Christmas plans with Luis’s family as all of his grown children were coming in from out of town. Because the whole family would already be there, we decided to get married a couple days after Christmas and so on December 27, we were married! We are so happy and so blessed! I know that our happiness is an answer to many years of prayer and it would not have happened without ChristianMingle. Thank you so much! We now have a new life and great future ahead, keeping Christ as our focus!
