When Ella announced to her family in January 2013 that she would break her 4-year sabbatical from men to try online dating, they erupted in applause. “They shared lots of online dating tips — and good ones, I might add!” she said.

Fifty miles across town, Jason figured he’d check out ChristianMingle on a trial basis. “When I saw that Ella responded to my ‘Smile,’ I couldn’t get out my credit card fast enough!” he said.

The two met for dinner a month later after talking a few times on the phone. They were impressed with each other on their first date and enjoyed an even better second date, but it was the third date that really caught Ella’s attention. “He invited me to his Bible study class, and I got to see him in his element and with his friends. I saw what he was really about, away from the dating scene,” said Ella.

A couple of week later, Jason kept Ella company while she recovered from a major surgery, and the two began an exclusive relationship. Over the next two years, the couple grew closer amid busy schedules, long commutes, and introductions to their children. Jason proposed to Ella in November 2014 with a solitaire flanked by four diamonds, explaining that each diamond represented a promise to her and each of their four children.

On March 28, 2015, Jason and Ella wed in an intimate ceremony in his mother’s backyard. Sixteen-year-old Merritt sang their wedding song, 11-year-old Emiline was the flower girl, 9-year-old Cole was the ringbearer, and 5-year-old Chase passed out programs. They were blessed with the most beautiful day of the season.

Today, Jason and Ella are adjusting to life as a blended family in their new home in Pearland, Texas. They wholeheartedly thank God for bringing them together through ChristianMingle!
