Isaiah 6:8 ’Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” (NIV)

There are Christians who believe their ministry is only for their local church, and that is where they will only operate that ministry. Well, have I got news for you! God can use us anywhere and not just behind the four walls. In the above scripture the voice of the Lord is saying “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? Like Isaiah our response should be “Here I am. Send me!”

Now that’s not to say we should leave our local church and go off setting up our own church if that isn’t our calling, or start laying hands on anyone we come across, we have to apply wisdom. What I am saying is don’t think God cannot use you outside your local church because He can and He wants to.

God has given us each gifts and abilities for His purpose what we do with them is entirely our decision. We can either waste or use them. Personally for me I want to use them.

God has given me the gift to write, I have a published book, plus I’m a Literary Agent, representing wonderfully Christ-centered authors. All this I am doing outside my local church. I refuse to sit on my talents when I know I could use them to be a blessing to someone else. Don’t hold back using your gifts believe in yourself and operate in your ministry as the word of God says the harvest is plentiful but the labors are few. Let’s be one of those labors.

There are people out there who still need to know Christ and God is waiting on us to be bold, be strong, to go out there and harvest for the kingdom. God can use you in whatever capacity. He could lay it on your heart to pray for a work colleague, or lay it on your heart to give some money to a person. All this is a valuable part of ministry as little is much when placed in the master’s hands.

So don’t hold back! If God wants to use you outside those four walls let Him do it. We all have the Holy Spirit within us so we shouldn’t fear, because if you don’t go out to the harvest field and allow Him to use you He will use someone else who was bold enough to say ‘Here I am. Send me!’
