I joined ChristianMingle in August 2011. About a week or so after I joined, Bryan caught my eye through the random “Question of the Week”. The question was “What book have you recently read?” The book that he had just finished reading was one that I had thoroughly enjoyed and told him so in a short message. We wrote back and forth for about a month until he asked for my phone number.

We took things slow, and were realistic about the 500 miles that separated us. He came to meet me in October during his fall break and the ease and fun we had experienced on the phone continued when we met in person and felt the electricity of attraction! Despite everything going really well, we still kept things light and friendly. In January 2012, Bryan officially asked me to be his girlfriend. After a summer of writing letters back and forth because he was in Basic Training, we went to meet all of his family in Florida. I was loved and I loved them all.

The Monday after I got home from Florida, Bryan showed up at my front door, surprising me with a ring, exactly one year and a day after I had sent that first message to him. We were married on December 22, 2012 and we are FINALLY together in the same city. We both felt confident in the Lord that we were well-suited to go through life together and all that life has to throw our way.
