My name is Dalmita. In March 2010, I moved down from Florida, leaving my family and grandkids behind. I’ve never done this before, but I was excited to start over in Galveston, TX, being a live-in caregiver.

I signed up with ChristianMingle in April 2010. I had been praying for someone in my life and that God would give one more chance to love again. After logging on, I did meet a couple of Christian men who were all very nice. One day, I opened an email from Kenneth. It was beautiful!  He mentioned that he was older than my age parameters but I still responded, telling him that I had never dated an older man before, but that we could see where this might take us.

Kenneth signed on to ChristianMingle not looking for love but because he was curious. He admittedly was scared to step into another relationship after his last one had ended badly.  We emailed for a while, getting to know one another and then exchanged phone numbers so that we could hear the other person’s voice.

Our first date was on May 23, 2010. When I first saw Kenneth, I thanked Jesus. I fell in love at first sight! I just knew Kenneth was the one.  We went to dinner and then on Sunday, we went to his church and a Cajun restaurant in order to talk more. After our awesome weekend, I couldn’t wait to see Kenneth again.

I traveled back and forward from Galveston to Richmond. It was an hour away, but I did not mind at all! On the weekends, Kenneth and I would go out. He was a total gentleman in that he was easy going, a good listener, faithful, and kept things real.

On December 24, 2010, Kenneth proposed to me during a treasure hunt where I had to search for the ring. I remember being really tired that evening, but I was excited and very happy with my life and how God was taking me where I wanted to be.

The New Year came and we began praying and doing devotionals together. Then in May of 2011, we started marriage counseling.  On June 24, 2011, we got married and it was the best day ever! Thanks, ChristianMingle!
