Both Ben and I had done the dating game in hopes that we would meet the person that God had set apart for us. We both had reached a point in our lives where we were having a hard time finding like-minded Christians. I was really disheartened and wondered if I would ever meet “the one.” I had various encounters with men who claimed to be Christians, but the fruit of their lives did not match their claimed beliefs.

One day, while venting to my mother, I saw an ad for ChristianMingle on my Facebook page. I decided to take the plunge and created a profile. I browsed through various profiles, but none seemed to catch my eye — until I saw Ben’s profile! I was so surprised and ecstatic when he decided to initiate a chat with me. Our chats quickly turned into emails, and soon we were talking on the phone. We seemed to have so much in common that we decided to meet in person. We met for the first time in November 2009 over coffee. We both had a great time learning more about each other, and I couldn’t have been more excited. We spent that entire day together-Ben even met my mom over lunch! We instantly felt that we had something special, and as we got to know each other better, we were reaffirmed that our relationship was indeed a blessing from the Lord. We have often said to one another that God blessed us with a love beyond what we ever envisioned.

After dating for over a year, Ben proposed! He took me to the dock at Inner Harbor and, before I knew what was coming, Ben dropped down to one knee and asked me to marry him. I was so excited that I even dropped the clutch purse I was holding!

Ben is everything I prayed for and so much more. Whenever we are together we can’t help but rejoice and thank God for blessing us, with each other. Eventhough ChristianMingle was a different approach to dating; we are both so glad that we decided to take the plunge. Thank you ChristianMingle for providing a safe and welcoming environment for us to get to know each other, and above all, thanks to God for bringing our lives together!
