How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!
At the end of August 2016, I decided I would give ChristianMingle one more shot. I had just a few weeks left on my subscription and if I met someone, great. If I didn’t, it just wasn’t meant to be. I saw this guy’s profile – no picture, but I liked what he had to say, so I sent him a smile.
Through the influence of a coworker and praying about it, he had decided he would put a profile up on ChristianMingle. He prayed that the Lord would send someone his way. Only one person sent him a smile or a message – me!
We messaged and texted until the October 1, when we finally met in person at a mission fund raiser. We started walking together twice a week and talking every day. We had several “lunch” dates, but our first official date was to the Biltmore for the candlelight tour in November.
Describe the moment you knew it was true love!
One night, we were walking and at the entrance of my subdivision, he reached for my hand. A few steps later, I realized I could see us growing old together, taking walks, talking, just enjoying each other’s company. I can’t say it was a loud thundering announcement or flashing neon signs that said “he’s the one.” It was deeper and louder than that. There was a peace in my heart that the Lord had brought him to me and as we’ve gotten to know each other, he’s my love, my soulmate, my best friend. He’s perfect for me!
His proposal was at my birthday celebration in January. My parents are overseas as are a lot of my friends. He talked to my dad, asking for my hand, and conspired with my brother, so not only were my parents on FaceTime, but it was live streamed for my extended family and friends to witness.
What advice would you give other ChristianMingle members?
My advice for other members is mainly be yourself. Don’t be what you think someone is looking for. You are the best version of what God has for someone out there. Pray hard, see HIS will and wisdom and patiently wait until the Lord brings that perfect someone to you.
