How did you meet? What was your first date like? Give us all the details!

On our first date, Bonnie wanted to go somewhere not too crowded where we could talk, preferably with background music. I wanted to meet at a coffee shop or have lunch so that we could talk a lot. When we finally did meet on Sunday, July 24th, we talked for three hours straight, closed the place down and then talked for another hour in the parking lot before leaving. This soon became “our style” whenever we would go out. We would lose track of time during our conversations and often run late or into the early morning hours. Frequently, one of us would be driving home half asleep after such a talk. We would soon become best friends.

Describe the moment you knew it was true love.

Bonnie’s car died at work after running the battery down. I grabbed some jumper cables, picked up her daughter at school, drove down to meet Bonnie and gave her car a jump. I wore my “Mr. Fix-It” hat and Bonnie laughed when she saw it. We finally did get her car home safely and I hooked up the charger. While we were waiting for it to charge we went for a long walk and ended up at the school nearby. I sang “I Don’t Want to Live Without You” by Foreigner while we danced under the moonlight. After we sat on a bench for a while talking, we got up and danced the Wiz step to “Follow the Yellow Brick Road“ on the way home. We got “dizzy drunk” when we danced in circles. We held hands/arms all the way back to Bonnie’s house and had a hard time saying goodnight. It was a truly remarkable day. It was then that I knew God was working in all of our lives to bless us because truly our lives are a testimony that “all things do work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
