Matthew 5:4 – Blessed and enviably happy [with a happiness produced by the experience of God’s favor and especially conditioned by the revelation of His matchless grace] are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted! [Isa. 61:2.]

There seems to be much to grieve in the world today. If it is not a cyclone, flood, earthquake, or other natural disaster, it is war and unrest. The happenings of recent time have left many fearful and disillusioned about life and God.

“What kind of God would cause an earthquake and kill innocent people?” Not mine.

God does not cause earthquakes, tsunamis or disasters to bring punishment on the world. John 10:10 tells us that stealing, killing and destroying are characteristics of the devil, not Father God.

So why do these things happen? Some will say that this is the last days and that God is judging humankind. Jesus spoke of earthquakes and other natural disasters occurring as history was coming to an end (Mark 13:8). But we aren’t there yet. Yes, there will be judgment, but right now we live in the time of grace.

Matthew 5:4 in the Amplified Bible states it so beautifully. There will be things to mourn while we remain in the world, but we are living in a time of God’s favour and grace. If you don’t know God’s love, perils of the earth will worry you. Grace will comfort those who know Him.

If you are fearful because of recent world crises, allow God’s grace to minister to you today. You are blessed.

Be amazing.
