It’s sometimes hard to imagine how tiny we are in comparison to the universe, yet we are daily surrounded by God’s majesty, His glory and His splendor. Only God could have created such a vast space and still have tended to the most intricate of details, like the fact that He knows every single star by name. Likewise, He cares about even the smallest details of our lives.

God’s Love Of Details

So how do we press into this truth that God cares even more so for the intricate details of our lives? The key is to remember that our God is a God of purposeful detail. He is not too great to tend to the small things. He will even go out of His way to make things go well for us if we surrender to Him daily. He also desires that we delight in the simple pleasures in life just as He provides them.

In Luke 12:7, it reads, “Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.” God is reminding us of His incredible attention to detail and how that reflects His deep care for us. God wants us to know that He tends to every matter of our lives, small and great, and that He doesn’t overlook the things most would consider insignificant.

Details With Purpose

Everything is a part of His eternal purpose. In Deuteronomy 31:9, He even says He’ll go out of His way to make things go well for us if we come back to Him in surrender and obedience. Will we entrust God with the little things, or only lay before Him the large aspects of our lives? Often, it’s the tiny matters in life that create a ripple effect into the larger matters. Look at how Christ used two fish and five loaves of bread to feed 5,000 people. God went out of His way to provide because Christ raised it up in faith and expectation. God can do the same for you if you raise every matter to Him.

Our Father desires that we delight not only in Him, but also every moment He provides. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, it reads, “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Why would God specify “all circumstances?” God knows that those who worship Him during the storm will receive the blessing of seeing through the lens of faith versus our earthly vision.

So relish the moments your daughter placed a sloppy flower crown on your head; the time you spend pursuing a cherished hobby; the moment you cradled an orphan or spoke life into a former sex-trafficking victim; and when you blew out the candles on your 30th birthday with friends and family. Every such moment God breathed into existence. Delight in both the big and the small events. Too often, we miss relishing in the little moments, yearning for the next big thing, when all the while God is whispering for us to make the most of every opportunity.
