When I became a member of ChristianMingle, I was extremely skeptical of the whole process. I had never put my profile online in an attempt to find love. After some time, I decided with my mother’s help that it was time to broaden my horizons. I signed up for a month as a trial run. Jokingly, I told God if He wanted me on this site, then He should send me my husband within the month. Well, God has a sense of humor as well. 

On July 12, 2011, I began chatting with Lee. We had an instant connection, and a couple of days later we were engaging in long conversations on the phone. Our intentions were clear. We were both coming from hard places in our lives. I was coming back from a long time of loneliness and heartbreak, and he was overcoming the loss of his father and a divorce. Our hearts were fragile and we both needed a friend. We confided in each other and became automatic best friends. The funniest part of this story is the fact that after a few short weeks, we began dating and even started using the big “L” word. All this happened despite the fact that we both knew we only wanted to be friends. God works in funny and mysterious ways! 

A little more than a year after we started dating, Lee asked me to be his wife! On February 2nd of this year, we officially wed. I cannot thank God enough for putting me on this website to find the man of my dreams. Lee is a man who puts my needs first and more importantly, he’s someone I can grow in Christ with every day. He is eager to become a man who seeks God and I want to be the wife God has formed me to be as well. Thank God we were saved from our times of trouble and brought together to help each other. I cannot wait to grow old with this man and discover what God has in store for us. Thank you!
