Amy and I first met on ChristianMingle at the beginning of August 2012. I had emailed Amy but did not get a response from her for almost three weeks! As it turns out, when I sent the email, Amy’s account was deactivated because she had been on ChristianMingle with no success. The night before she re-subscribed, Amy prayed and felt God telling her to trust him in her dating life. Once she logged on, she saw my email and messaged me back the same day.

In her email, Amy mentioned that she liked my pictures and appreciated the way that I hugged my son. The same night she emailed me back, we ended up talking on the phone until the early hours of the morning. We both realized that we had a real connection, which neither of us had felt in years. Previously, we had both been married and each had 7-year old children, a son for me and a daughter for her.

Amy and I decided to meet for the first time the following week. After our first date, we both wanted to continue seeing each other but dating was a real commitment since we lived 200 miles apart. In order to make it work, we took turns visiting each other each weekend and would try and meet half way for dinner one night a week.

Because we had both been married before, we knew exactly what characteristics we wanted in a spouse, most importantly someone with a strong Christian faith. We knew pretty quickly that we were God’s match for each other as we felt we had found what we had been praying for. After transferring my job in order to be closer to Amy, we were married at the end of November 2012! Thank you ChristianMingle for bringing us together!
