One of my closest friends suggested that I try ChristianMingle.  I was a little hesitant at first, but it was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Michael and I started communicating on ChristianMingle on March 30, 2012.   Michael sent me a smile and an email that said he liked what he saw, and that I was the one for him.  I looked at his profile and I liked what I saw and read.   We started communicating and found out we had so much in common.  We both have southern roots.  We are both retired and are widows.   We had been alone for years, and didn’t know if we would ever find true love again.  We are both Christians and believed that God would put the right person in our lives.  He emailed me that he was going to Virginia for the weekend, to visit his grandson and celebrate his birthday.  He emailed me his phone number.  The day that he was going to leave for his trip, I called Michael to wish him a safe trip, and we ended up talking for hours. We talked so much that he missed his connecting flight.  He called me when he got to Virginia, and we talked every day and night that he was away. When he returned home, Michael asked me for my address because he wanted to send me something.  The next day, I received beautiful red roses and a card.  I knew he was the man for me. A week later we met in person.  We had a beautiful first meeting, and we knew that God had brought us together.  After our initial meeting, we talked two to three times a day and planned outings on the weekends.   

In October of 2012, Michael asked me to marry him.  Since both of our roots were in North Carolina, we made plans to relocate.  We got married in North Carolina on August 16, 2013.
