The emotional scars of a failed relationship can take their toll. And let’s be honest. Not all of us lived the charmed life. Maybe you’ve made some poor choices in your life. And those poor choices led you down a slippery slope of pain, regret, and shame. Those choices can sometimes manipulate our thought process and how we view ourselves.

I cry as I write this knowing that there are many broken-hearted single parents reading this. I know that some of you have allowed Satan to whisper in your ear that you are not good enough. You are not a good enough parent, a good enough sister, a good enough friend. You will never be good enough. You are weak. You are less than. You are not worthy of love and happiness. Let me share with you truth:

“I have loved you with an everlasting love. With unfailing love, I have drawn you unto myself.”  (Jeremiah 31:3)
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

“You have been my God from the moment I was born.” (Psalm 22:10b)

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.” (Romans: 8:35,37)

Your truth is now how you feel. It is God’s word. There are days when none of us feel very lovable. Yet, God’s word is what we stand on. He loves you and me with an everlasting, unfailing love. Nothing we could ever do separates us from it. And he has great plans for you. So yes, you are plenty good enough!
