Just in time for Christmas and holiday gift giving, nine highly anticipated newly released DVDs and Blu-rays will be in stores over the next few weeks.

For the first time ever ever, action-packed hits like The Wolverine, Fast and the Furious 6, The Lone Ranger, Red 2, Elysium and the Indiana Jones Trilogy Pack (Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade) will hit stores in DVD an Blu-ray format. Despicable Me 2 and Mary Poppins (50th Anniversary Edition) will also grace shelves, not to mention the Breaking Bad TV series.

Red 2 (Available Nov. 26)

For the drama and fast-paced action viewer on your list, this sequel to the first movie is packed with CIA-style action wrapped in elements of humor. Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Catherine Zeta Jones and Anthony Hopkins bring it on. The DVD/Blu-ray was made available in stores on November 26, just in time to wrap up for Christmas. The DVD includes deleted scenes and a gag reel as extras. The Blu-ray extras include these as well as “The Red 2 Experience” behind-the-scenes.

Red 2 is rated PG-13 for pervasive action and violence including frenetic gunplay, and for some language and drug material.

Breaking Bad Series (Available Nov. 26)

On November 26, just in time for holiday giving, pick up a barrel of one of the hottest shows on cable. Buy the Blu-ray edition, and you’ll find this drama in a special barrel-shaped gift case complete with nifty little gift pieces, such as a picture book and a challenge coin. The Blu-ray and DVD set will also include a gag reel, two-hour documentary, deleted scenes and an alternate ending. The Blu-ray comes with a bonus table-top read.

Breaking Bad is rated TV-14 and the suggested movie rating is R for drug use, violence including some disturbing images, brief sexual content and language.

The Wolverine (Available Dec. 3)

This sixth installment of the X-Men film series takes you to current-day Japan in this movie based off of a Marvel comic. The Blu-ray version offers special features, an alternate ending, an immersive feature and the ability to sync with Wolverine Second Screen App for a more interactive experience.

The Wolverine is rated PG-13 for sequences of intense sci-fi action and violence, some sexuality and language.

Fast & Furious 6 (Available Dec. 10)

This action-packed sixth movie in the series became available for you to wrap up as a gift on December 10. Both the DVD and the Blu-ray version offers special behind-the-scenes extras, with the Blu-ray offering quite a bit more.

Fast & Furious 6 is rated PG-13 for intense sequences of violence and action and mayhem throughout, some sexuality and language.

Mary Poppins 50th Anniversary Edition (Available Dec. 10)

This family classic is an endearing story from Walt Disney, and is celebrating 50 years of wholesome entertainment. This movie’s December 10 release to DVD and Blu-ray makes it the perfect gift to pick up for every member of the family and the first time this movie has ever been released on Blu-ray. Besides the beautiful cover art and HD quality of this latest release, viewers will enjoy a special feature, called “Mary-OKE”, where you are able to sing along with your favorite songs from the movie.

Mary Poppins is rated G.

Despicable Me 2 (Available Dec. 14)

Another family favorite, this hilarious animated film makes a great stocking stuffer. Extras on the DVD include a couple shorts as well as featured commentary. The Blu-ray version offers quite a bit more mini movies, deleted scenes, the making of the mini movies, and is also available in Blu-ray 3D.

Despicable Me 2 is rated PG for rude humor and mild action.

The Lone Ranger (Available Dec. 17)

On December 17, this Disney re-make of the classic television series snuck in just in time for Christmas gift giving. Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer star in this film about a Native American warrior that transformed one man into a legend. The movie uses the wild west, silver mine setting. The Blu-ray and DVD versions offer extras of deleted scenes, a blooper reel and a couple of shorts.

The Lone Ranger is rated PG-13 for sequences of intense action and violence, and some suggestive material.

Elysium (Available Dec. 17)

This action film with a futuristic feel hit the shelves on December 17 in DVD and Blu-ray. On DVD, you will find two extra clips about the making of the movie. The Blu-ray edition adds five more segments about visual effects, pre and post production and the technologies of 2154.

Elysium is rated R for strong bloody violence and language throughout.

Indiana Jones trilogy (Available Dec. 17)

The story of Indiana Jones has become a household name to many, and now all three movies are available on DVD or Blu-ray to make at-home viewing an all-in-one package. In November, the DVD of the first three movies in the series was made available in HD followed with a December 17 release of a Blu-ray with digital copy. Along with Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Temple of Doom, and The Last Crusade, you will get bonus peeks at a trailer and a teaser trailer.

Raiders of the Lost Ark and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom are rated PG and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade is rated PG-13.
