I was on ChristianMingle and had been talking with a few men. I was a widow looking for someone to connect with. John and I sent several emails back and forth, before I finally asked him to send a photo, so that I could see who I was speaking to. He was always telling me that he was praying for me, and I thought he was praying a regular prayer for me. However, he meant that he was asking God to bring us together as a couple. He finally sent his photo and I thought he looked like Dr. Charles Stanley. I was interested. I lived in the southwest part of Ohio and John lived in the north central part of Indiana. Because of the distance, I did not think that a relationship would work. However, on Labor Day weekend he called and asked if he could come meet me in person. He drove five hours just to meet me. He told me that he liked what he saw and heard, and that he was also was a recent widower.

That weekend, we went to my granddaughter’s softball game and out to eat with family afterwards. He spent the night and left the next day, even though he did not want to leave. He said that he knew when he met me that I was the one he wanted to be with. We kept in close contact and I went with my cousin to visit him, and to learn more about him. I learned that he was a good man and everyone we met spoke highly of him.

To make a long story short, God had sure planned this one out. We got engaged in September and were married on October 27, 2012. We have now been happily married now for fifteen months. He is the “cream of the crop” in my book and I thank God all of the time for blessing me with such a loving Christian husband, who treats me better than I have ever been treated in my life. Thank you ChristianMingle; you were the link that God used to bring us together.
